When we were in the camp gift shop we engaged in conversation about the area with Barb who lives in the area and works in the shop. She mapped out a drive on Hwy 26 south to Eagle River with a drive up to Brockway Mountain for a view of Copper Harbor and the surrounding area.

The drive takes you along Lake Superior through Eagle Harbor. The Brockway drive affords a beautiful view of Lake Superior and Copper Harbor and brings you back to 26.
After a photo op at the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse,Keweenaw's most visited and photographed lighthouse, we stopped at the Society of St John monk's "Jampot Bakery". This is a must stop. We purchased jams, cookies and muffins. They also have many types of breads and fudge.http://www.societystjohn.com/store

We then stopped for a picture of Great Sand Dune Bay. Beautiful. It reminded us somewhat of the Oregon coast. The beach on this drive is known as agate beach and is popular among agate seekers.

In Eagle River a footbridge overlooks a rushing waterfall and a truss bridge. Returning back to Copper Harbor we stopped again in Eagle Harbor for lunch at the Eagle Harbor Restaurant.

It was a nice, relaxing day.
Love the cell signal picture. We did quite a bit of that in Colorado. We are home now. Spent the last day and a half unloading the iHome and washing, washing, washing! The advantage of full time is you never have to cart all this stuff in and out!
