After retrieving Destiny from boarding, we drove down Hwy 100 to Mt Holly to visit Dave and Carol.
What a wonderful visit. They have a home with acreage on Lake Ninevah that proved to be so relaxing. The home and adjacent cottage have been in the family since the 50's affording beautiful mountain views and private beach on the lake. We spent most of time relaxing on the patio with a trip down to the lake where John and I were given kayak lessons. Guess our next purchase will be a couple of kayaks or maybe a double one. Their dog Patches, a golden retriever, loves the lake and retrieves rocks for fun. Destiny got her paws wet, but decided to just lay on the beach.
Carol fixed a wonderful lunch and Dave grilled hamburgers. Fresh fruit,
cucumber salad, chicken salad, tomatoes and lettuce from the garden and cake for dessert. No dinner tonight for us.
We are so thankful to have met them earlier in the year at Merritt Island.
Looking forward to many years of friendship.
Thank you dear friends for a wonderful day..hated to depart.
Only disappointment was not seeing any moose, bears or deer.
