04 May-08 May
We departed Nellis AFB this morning for our 1st stop enroute to Terrebonne,OR. We arrived at Valley View RV park on Hwy 93 in Ely,NV around 300PM. This is our 2nd visit since October 2016. It is a nice park with sites set aside for overnight and short term stays. We are here for 2 nts. Gassed up yesterday to save time.$4.84/gal 60 gals..$290.94.

Our drive on Great Basin Hwy 93 took us past Cathedral Gorge. Worth a stop for the view.

After getting gas at Love's 60 gal for $265..ouch..we headed up Hwy 93 toward IH 80 and our next stop in Winnemucca at New Pioneer RV..our 3rd stay. The drive up Hwy 93 was rather scenic with a view of the Ruby Mountains.

The wind on IH 80 was gusting up to 50 miles per hour. As we were driving, I noticed that the cover on the big bin on the right was flapping in the wind in though it was locked when we departed. Anyway it was a few miles before we could find a place to pull over. John rigged up with rope a way to secure it until we got to Terrebonne.
In my opinion the only park in which to stay here. It is fairly new, good pull thru spaces with FHU, a very nice restaurant, Wingers, laundry and new adjacent motel. The park models are uniform and well maintained as is the park.We were supposed to stay 2 nights, but impending weather gave cause to leave a day early.
Got gas $4.80/gal 42 gallons and $200.

Another windy day drive from Winnemucca to Burns, OR and Burns RV park..A nice pull thru site.We were supposed to stay 2 nights, but again weather dictated an early departure. It is so cold and snow predicted late tomorrow. Boy was the weather wrong on this.
8 May
Left the park around 900AM, got gas land headed west on 20. Gas was $5/gal so 40 gal and $200.This has been an expensive trip from LV to Terrebonne. $955.94.
About 60 miles west of Burns we started having some snow flakes and some sleet. We kept going in and out along the way with the worst being around Brothers. It was at this point we lost the right wiper as it went flying off on Hwy 20. Fortunately it was not the left one. John had installed the new ones before we left Nellis. As we got closer to Bend and our turnoff to Terrebonne, the snow was coming down heavy.
