Arrival WA for RV Service

 2 May 2021

We departed today for Toutle River RV Resort just south of Chehalis off exit 51 on IH 5 north. A short drive. Upon arrival we were very impressed with the park. Lots of trees and amenities such as venues for gathering, short walk to river, several small homes that appear to be full-time residents, nice camping spaces and very friendly staff. We are only here for 2 nights while we are getting RV maintenance. Spark plugs and coolant system service at Awesome Ford in Chehalis. We only hooked up electric and did not disconnect tow

Early departure for Awesome at 700AM. Knew it would take some time so we went to breakfast at Rib Eye restaurant close by. Be prepared to bring a big appetite as the portions are huge. I ordered an egg scramble with sausage, peppers, onions and hash browns. Very good, but much to much..could only eat half. John got hash browns, biscuits with gravy, sausage and ate it all. For lunch we went to Safeway for the purpose of getting some wine to take to Loretta when we get to Helena. She likes a white sweet wine and on the recommendation of our friends, Don and Carolyn got her 2 bottles of Ste Chateau Michelle Harvest Select Sweet Reisling 2019. Don and Carolyn used to have a winery and vineyard in Amity,OR so I trust their judgement. We,also, picked up sandwiches for lunch.

Well, we finally got our iHome at 400PM..a long day, but John very pleased with their work and prices reasonable. Awesome Ford was recommended by Brazel (they did repairs for us last year). This was time in since we bought the Bounder in 2009 we had plugs changed. Not bad for 103,000 miles.

We departed around 900AM for our next stop at Suncrest RV park in Moses Lake. Rather that go thru Seattle we opted for the Hwy 12 over White Pass to IH 82 to IH 90..a 250 miles drive. Scenery very pretty, road has frequent pull out spots..6 hr drive..you need to be very alert due to twists and turns.

Arrived at Suncrest and pull into spot 68.There seem to be more full time residents than travelers, but the park is nice and well maintained. Easy access off IH 90 exit 174. After setting up, we drove to Safeway and carwash. We will be here 4 nights before heading to St Regis,MT
