15 September 2018
A 6 hour drive from Salem with heavy traffic on IH 5 and 405 Loop. Next time we will come up the Olympic Peninsula to Port Townsend and take the ferry over to Coupeville.
Whidbey Island NAS Cliffside RV Park will be our home until 6 October. This is our 5th stay since 2014 and our favorite military campground. Ken and his staff take excellent care of the park and over the years have planted many flower beds, made cute signs from driftwood and definitely show pride in maintaining the park. Can find no negatives except would like to stay longer. Serenity, beauty and nice sites. Enjoy my walks up the hill and thru the woods with views of Juan de Fuca Strait.
This is first time have not seen the eagle families, but lots of cute cotton tails. Weather is in the 60's with days of rain.
Have toured many areas in the past..Fort Casey, Fort Worden,Mt Baker highway drive, San Juan Islands, Port Gamble etc.
This is a favorite area of Washington for us. One thing we want to do is the drive to Hurricane Ridge on the Olympic Peninsula south of Port Angeles.
Til next entry enjoy the photos.
