We arrived at Fort George Meade Army Base on the 17th. This is our second visit since 2010 and another of our favorite military campgrounds. It is located near Laurel MD about 30 miles north of DC.

Fort Meade includes the Defense Information School, United States Field Army Band and headquarters of the United States Cyber Command, the National Security Agency and the Defense Courier Service.
Prior to arrival I made appointment with the base Veterinarian to update Destiny's shots and with the base boarding to kennel her while we go into DC.
There are several forts in the area that we missed on our last visit to see as well get together with friends, Walter and Diane whom we met last year KARS RV park run by NASA and again at Mayport NS Pelican Roost. They live in Rockville MD.
Today after taking Destiny for boarding, we are going to explore Forts Myer and McNair in the DC area. Will do separate posting for this.
Our first couple of days here the weather was cloudy with some rain so we stayed close. Did go to the commissary and exchange for some items.
We leave here on the 28th for West Point for a week then up to Maine before heading to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We will spend most of summer in areas of Canada before heading back to Oregon.
