Finally a sunshine day for our drive to NAS Whidbey Island Cliffside RV Park 200 miles via IH 5 and IH 405 around Seattle. The drive was rather tense for me with all the semi's,traffic and road construction.
John maintained his calm as always and brought us safely to our destination. Personally would rather take the Olympic drive to Port Townsend and ferry over to the island. This is our 8th visit here since 2014 and hope not the last. We will be here a month and wish rules allowed a longer stay.
Drive over Deception Pass bridge affords a nice view.

Park is our favorite and affords nice hiking trails, beach walks, driftwood and reader board signages making the walks more interesting. We have a nice site in row 2 overlooking the Juan de Fuca Strait.

Below are some photos around the park. Ken and staff do a remarkable job of maintaining the park.

And the rains have come. Sure interrupts my walking.
Cade sent photos of his fishing trip to Alaska..Coffin Cove..
We got our meds refilled at base pharmacy. Sure makes it easy with the genesis system having our records online.
John has been busy doing minor repairs on the iHome. Replacing screen door latch, restringing bedroom shade on my bedside, dental appointment, ordering some parts on Amazon..much cheaper than Camping World.
I started making another sign for the camper reader display. Found a piece of driftwood that will work.Just wish I were artistic and had a steadier hand. Will post if completed in later blog.

Our friends we met at Nellis arrived today for 2 weeks. George is a handsome yellow lab that I have spoiled with healthy biscuits. Thanks Paul for stopping by several times a day. Sure will miss our visits until we hopefully reconnect in October at Fort Huachuca in Sierra Vista AZ.
Tomorrow John's brother, Doug arrives for the weekend. Last time we saw him was in Boston in 2018.
