We went back to Mount Tamalpais for some radar sites John missed on our first visit last week. We then drove up to ranger fire station which involves a very difficult hike. When I saw the rattlesnake signs and the skin of one, hopped back in car and decided to move on. Did spot two deer crossing the road and got a photo of Sausilito Bay.
On Sunday we drove to the Muir Beach Overlook to photo some WWII observation bunkers. The view was beautiful and certainly worth the drive. Notice house between Overlook and Muir Beach. How do they ever build these homes on the side of the hills?
On Monday our friends we met at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas two years ago and who are camped here, invited us to lunch at one of their favorite restaurants they first experienced in 1991 when they were stationed here. Chin Hua is a mongolian restaurant located in Vacaville. This was my first experience at this type of restaurant and enjoyed the food and the company. Thanks Joy and Kevin. We will see you at Nellis and more eating out experiences. Oh yes, they adoped Shylo two years ago and a very precious dog. So friendly. Will get you some treats for your visit.
Tomorrow we leave for Chowcilla for 2 nights then on to PT Magu Navy base near Oxnard.
This is our 5th visit here and only just discovered the duck pond thanks to Joy and Kevin. A great place to walk on base.
Today in memory of 9/11, the base played Taps 4 times. Brought tears. Never Forget.
