Atomic Testing Museum

The National Atomic Testing Museum located at 755 E Flamingo Rd is open 7 days a week and features 13 different galleries with over 12,000 artifacts and educational explanations about the Nevada Test Site and its origin. Also featured in the museum is an exhibit on Area 51..Myth or Reality. No pictures permitted in this exhibit.  In the ground zero theatre, you get a history of atomic testing as well as a multi- sensory experience that simulates an above ground test.

During the construction of the test site, the town of Mercury housed the workers and families. Today many of the facilities have been demolished.

As for the Area 51 exhibit. I don't think they studied aliens or the like.
Feel it was a very secretive test site for aircraft. Maybe the alien myths were a diversion. One of those things we may never know. "JANET' planes fly from McCarran to the site carrying employees.
